Profile

Dr Asim Abdulhamid is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist in Newcastle and the Hunter region, and a Staff Specialist at Calvary Mater Newcastle. A University of Otago graduate, he trained in New Zealand and Brisbane and completed a transplant hepatology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, USA.

 

He performs gastroscopy, colonoscopy, polypectomy (polyp removal), haemorrhoid banding and capsule endoscopy. He is widely published, including in Hepatology and Liver Transplantation, and sees patients from Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and Port Stephens.
